Reliable Toyota Lexus BMW Audi & Scion Gives $120,000 to Local & SW Missouri Charities
Springfield Automotive Dealership Reliable Toyota Lexus BMW Audi & Scion is distributing checks totaling $120,000 to Joplin and Springfield Area charities as part of their Road To Recovery fund raising effort following the May 2011 Tornado disaster in Joplin Missouri.
Springfield, MO December 16, 2011 -- Following the May 2011 Tornado disaster in Joplin MO, Tony Stubblefield and the employees of Reliable Toyota Lexus BMW Audi & Scion began a charitable fundraising effort to help with the rebuilding efforts in Joplin Missouri. $100 was set aside for every vehicle sold at the dealership from Memorial Day through Labor Day in 2011.
Customers were able to designate a local charity they would like to see the $100 from their purchase go to. Customer Specified Charities totaled nearly $50,000. The balance of funds will be paid to charities nominated by Reliable Employees. The Largest donation will go to Joplin Public School Tornado Fund in the amount of $45,100.
Checks have already been going out and started with $1,200 worth of bottled water just days after the tornado stuck. $10,000 has already been donated to the Joplin Public School Fund and the balance will be given this December.
In addition to the $100,000 raised during this effort, Reliable Superstore donated an additional $20,000 to the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, a local charity founded by Mary Beth O'Reilly to support woman and families impacted by breast cancer.
